Who We Are
Special Kare Ministries is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide support and assistance to families of our special needs population in Cleveland, Gaston,
Lincoln and Rutherford Counties.

What We Do
There are two specific ways we accomplish our mission: We provide opportunities to the young adult population, with special needs, in Gaston County, for job training and improving interpersonal skills. We work with families, who have a proven need, to provide clothing, food, diapers, wipes
and toys. We also work closely with various organizations at Christmas to provide winter coats and gifts for children.

Kare Baskets & Boxes

Baby Kare Baskets
Baskets filled with a blanket, book, small toy and $15.00 gift card to a local restaurant and brochures on local agencies that work with the Special Needs population in our area. These baskets are presented to parents of newborns who are premature, have a physical disability, a diagnosed syndrome or any other limitation.

Our goal is to make sure families have support from the beginning with their precious new baby.

Kare Boxes
Boxes that are filled with infant/children’s clothes,diapers, wipes and other items that provide for a family in need.

Food Kare Boxes
A box that is filled with various breakfast, lunch and dinner food items that provide for a family in need.

Miscellaneous
Items such as toys, assistive devices and small furniture items.

The Separk House

The Separk House is where we have opportunities to work with our young adults, who have special needs, on job training skills and developing relationships with other special needs young adult co-workers. Our young adults assist in sorting and organizing
clothing, pantry items and baby items. They also help with housekeeping such as vacuuming, dusting, laundry and basic cleaning.
